DRIVING LESSONS

1. You are able to confirm that you hold a valid and suitable driving licence. You agree to notify your instructor immediately if you receive any endorsements.

2. In the event of a mechanical breakdown or other difficulty outside of the control of the instructor, the instructor reserves the right to cancel driving lessons at short notice. The instructor agrees to provide as much notice as possible.

3. CANCELLATIONS – A minimum of 48 hours notice is to be given to the instructor, in order to cancel booked lessons. The full payment will be liable within this period. Charges may be waived in extreme personal hardship, at the instructor’s discretion, (e.g family bereavement or personal hospitalisation), but this will need to be agreed with the instructor at the time. Proof of such circumstances may be required.

4. CANCELLATIONS of 2 or more bookings may result in losing your place with the instructor.

5. LESSONS will be charged in multiples of 1hr, 1.5hrs or 2hrs. Block bookings – if you pay for a block of lessons (example 10 hrs) they must be paid upfront. These will be booked in immediately with you and your instructor. Wherever possible, you will receive the full time (or part thereof). Traffic conditions may mean there is a variation, but this will be no longer than 5 minutes, (e.g if you pay for 1.5 hrs you should receive between 85 mins and 95 mins). Any shortfall in excess of 5 minutes will be given in the next lesson. Any over-run in excess of 5 minutes will be deducted from the next lesson.

6. If you are late for your lesson, your lesson will still finish at the planned time.

7. The fee paid for any lessons does not include any test fees.

8. The fee paid for the lessons does not include use of the car for driving tests.

9. Payment should be made by bank transfer 24 hrs before or cash on the day and at the start of the lesson.

10. Any changes to the hourly rate will be published 2 weeks in advance. The hourly rate can vary depending on pick-up or drop-off location and may not be the same for each and every learner as a result. Changes to pick up and drop off must be agreed with the instructor 48 hours before the lesson, please bear in mind this may not be possible as the instructor may not have time to get to next lesson.

11. Fit for Purpose – It’s important that you are fit to drive, we do not tolerate and will not take you on a driving lesson if you have had any of the following: alcohol or drugs. You will be charged for the full lesson price and the lesson won’t go ahead if the instructor feels this is the case. Please also mention to your instructor any prescribed medications you are taking just in case these affect your ability to drive. Also advisable to consult with your own GP about driving on your medication.

12. The instructor takes no liability for any injury, sickness, accidents, or damage to the learners or third parties or property as a result of learner recklessness or failure to follow instructions.

13. The instructor takes no legal responsibility for learners driving after passing their test or driving without the instructor on a provisional licence (e.g driving with a parent/sibling/partner/friend etc).

14. Any damage to the tyres or wheel trims through driving recklessly and not listening to the instructor will incorporate fees to repair the damage. This could be as much as £100.

15. You the learner are a responsible driver – you are responsible as the driver for any speeding tickets and bus lane tickets when on your driving lesson and will have to pay the ticket and take the consequences immediately. This has no cost to the instructor, and the instructor is required by law to provide your details if this should happen.

PRACTICAL DRIVING TESTS

1. All practical test bookings must be done through your instructor if you wish to use the instructors car. Learners booking their own test without the agreement of the instructor will not be able to use the instructor’s car.

2. The fee for the use of the car for the practical test will equate to 2.5 times the applicable hourly rate, this includes 1 hour lesson before the test, the duration of the test, and the hiring cost of the vehicle.

3. Learners agree to undertake enough lessons to fully prepare for the test and agree to the instructor delaying the test date in the event of lessons being cancelled by either party for any reason.

4. The instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of their vehicle for a practical driving test for any reason.

5. In the unlikely event of mechanical failure on the day of the test, the instructor will do everything possible to get a replacement vehicle. However, if this is not possible the test will be cancelled and re-booked at the instructor’s expense. This liability is limited to the test fee and no other costs incurred.

6. The instructor agrees to teach to the current ADI/PDI standards and will endeavour to fully prepare learners for their test in the minimum number of lessons possible, according to the learner’s skills, attributes, knowledge and abilities. (The DVSA recommends a MINIMUM of 40 hours with a driving instructor & 20 hours private practice with family).

7. Learners agree to undertake a minimum of 4 mock tests before their practical test.

8. If your driving test gets cancelled by the DVSA, your instructor will continue with the lesson as normal. You will still be charged the original lesson price of 2.5hrs.

9. All our tuition vehicles are checked daily for safety reasons and although the unexpected happens, out on the lesson things can develop, eg, nails in tyres or warning lights come on. The lesson will be cancelled, and you will only be charged for what time you have used.

10. From time-to-time tuition vehicles may break down, if this was the case your lesson may have to be cancelled at short notice. Your instructor will re-book you another lesson and refund payment of the time not used, or the un-used fee can be transferred onto the next lesson.

11. If the Instructor happens to get a cancellation driving test for another learner, and it happens to be in the middle of your lesson, we will change your lesson to accommodate the test. The instructor will book you in on another day.

12. Abuse – our instructors are here to help you throughout your training, so please be kind as we don’t accept any verbal or physical abuse.

INTENSIVE DRIVING LESSONS

1. Each Intensive does not include any test fees, but does include driving test time & the hire of the tuition vehicle on the day of your driving test.

2. Each training day is 10am till 3pm. If it’s easier days can be split into half.

3. The course can be split over 1 month, this is just to make sure we can get you ready for the test.

4. All courses require a £200 deposit (non refundable).

5. Remaining course fees due 7 days before the training course commences. Payment can be made in instalments but must be paid in full 7 days before training starts. (please note courses not paid for the week before will not be able to go ahead and any fees paid will not be refunded.

6. Booking is easy – Book a driving assessment 11/2 hrs £60 and the instructor will then select the course that best suits you and your experience. Your instructor will let you know on the day of your assessment.

8. We can organise a theory test & a driving test at an additional fee of £100 for both.

10. The driving instructor has the right to refuse to take you for the driving test if you are not ready, any fees lost is at no cost to the instructor and purely down to you. Please read the link below it will help you understand why we can not take anyone who’s not ready for test, as it has a knock on effect on the instructor.

11. Once you have started the course, you must make sure you attend all the training days and times. Otherwise you will not be able to go ahead with the driving test, and will lose your fee you’ve paid.

12. Days and hours can not be saved, changed or transferred to other days.

13. If you or the instructor decide that your not ready for the test, the test will be cancelled and you will lose the test fee , if this is less than 3workings days before the test. Training hours will still continue as normal. Admin fee of £20 will be charged to change any driving tests.

14. Refunds – £200 Deposit is non-refundable.

15. Cancellations & Refunds- if you decide to change your mind once you have started your training, as long as you give 48hrs notice cancellation, no charges will be incurred. And you will receive a refund of the remainder hours you haven’t used. If it’s less than 48hrs notice you will be charged full price for the lesson/ full day that you cancel. Please remember you will lose your deposit and be charged an admin fee of £20 to cancel the tests.
